About :::

Oh your curious about things ehh? In this section we delve into the questions about this site, myself, and a number of other topics. Lets begin with the important stuff.

Time and Date format ::

Rather unique system is used to display the dates here at IonYz.net. The basic format is YYYY.MM.DD which mimics the Asian method of dating. Largest or rather more important numbers are first. It also matches the ISO standard of dating except I use different place markers and use no leading zeros.

Time is displayed in 24 hour notation and helps us all in this shrinking world of ours. With communication between continents becoming ever more common the 24 hour clock helps calculate time zones easily. Although I won't use it often the times displayed are -0600 from GMT/UTC.

Technologies ::

There is a great deal of work that goes into creating a web site. Sure there are tools out there so that just about everyone can build one and that is great. But there is something about going all out and doing it right. Getting your hands dirty with piles of code, sweating over a graphics program to build the best images. I haven't been working with web sites a very long time but I have a few concepts about their construction.

Sites should be lean yet informative, and code should be compliant to standards. That single sentence says a great deal about my attitude. All pages on this domain adhere to W3C standards for XHTML and CSS. If a page looks incorrect, then it is your browser that is wrong not the code. PHP has also been chosen to perform some magic here and there. All three come together and transform this site, built mostly off text, into a functioning domain that won't tax your modem.

Now your thinking, "So this is a text only site? Boring." Let me put your minds at ease when I tell you there will be media afoot. I'm a multimedia kinda guy so expect to see animations, photos, renders, and music. Thing is I do almost everything in chunks. For one week I may be working on this site, and another pounding out an animation. In time this place will be hosting some nice content, that leads me to my next section.

Copyright Information ::

In this great P2P era copyright information may not be of much use. But think for a second how it would feel to work on something for days and days just to get no retribution for it. Most everything I post here is not about money though, because I create for the sake of creation. That said please don't rip me off. It is one thing to trade my work on P2P networks, but another to call it yours. Trade my content all over if you want, as long as I get credit we are cool. Watermarks on media should remain in place, do not remove them. Contact me if you wish to publish any of my content whether in print, online, or on video.
